CHAKWAL: Thirty one people including women and children were injured when their bus overturned on Lahore-Islamabad Motorway near Kallar Kahar Interchange on Monday.
“The bus was on its way to Mardan from Lahore and the passengers were returning after attending a marriage ceremony,” Investigating Officer Tariq Mehmood at Kallar Kahar Police Station said while talking to Dawn.
He said the cause of accident was speeding as the driver lost control over the vehicle when it was negotiating a turn.
The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Chakwal by the personnel of Frontier Works Organisation. Ten injured persons belonged to the same family.
“We received thirty one injured persons and three of them including two little girls were referred to Rawalpindi,” Medical Superintendent at DHQ Hospital Dr. Ahsan Naveed Malik told Dawn.
