THE Prime Minister`s House has clarified media reports regarding Nawaz Sharif`s reply to a query about investigations into corruption scandals of previous governments, saying he was quoted out of context.

A journalist had put a question to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, during his visit to the new Islamabad Airport last week, regarding delays and massive increasesin the cost ofprojects begun by previous governments.

The prime minister`s reply was that accountability was vital to good governance, but an `excessive focus` on investigations and trials would `divert the government`s attention and energy from executing infrastructure projects` that were key to a `socio-economic revolution`.-APP
