M A N S E H R A : Deepening differences in the party`s Hazara chapter, Pakistan Tehreek-iInsaf divisional president Zargul Khan served a show cause notice on disgruntled leader All Asghar Khan seeking explanation on his corruption allegations against party ministers and lawmal(ers.
Mr Zargul warned that the party could expel Mr Asghar if he failed to prove charges.
The notice stated that the disgruntled leader had violated the party`s discipline by leveling corruption charges against ministers and lawmakers in the media without bringing them to the party chief`s notice.
It added that Mr Ali Asghar`s act also tarnished the party`s image `nationally and internationally`.
Forwarded to PTI chief Imran Khan and KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, the notice asked the disgruntled leader to formally hand over the evidence of corruption allegedly committed by the party ministers, MNAs and MPAs to the party`s chairman in two weeks and said if that didn`t happen, then he should get ready for strict action.
It also stopped Mr Ali Asghar, the son of former air chief Asghar Khan, from issuing any statement or news item to the media and stated if that happened, it would be considered a gross violation of the party`s discipline.Mr Ali Asghar had alleged that food minister Qalandar Lodhi, adviser to the chief minister on information Mushtaq Ghani, MNA Dr Azhar Jadoon and MPA Sardar Idrees were involved in corrupt practices, especially embezzlement of funds.
He has been leading a disgruntled group in Hazara division and even blocked the bids of the PTI to install own government in Abbottabad district by joining hands with the rival PML-N`s councillors.
The Abbottabad nazim from his group, Sardar Sher Bahadur, is facing a disqualification case filed by the PTI over violation of the party`s discipline by joining hands with the PML-N.
Mr Ali Asghar`s father, Asghar Khan, had merged his Tehreek-i-Istaglal with the PTI in 2011.
