CHARSADDA: The police on Friday foiled a major terror bid by arresting three facilitators of terrorists here. The arrested men were in constant contact with Afghan Taliban.

SP investigations Sajjad Khan, while addressing a press conference, said the arrests were made during an intelligencebased operation in Shabgadar Saro Kallay area.

He said the facilitators included Asif Ali alias Ansari, resident of Battagram, Mohammad Huzaifa alias Buzurg, resident of Chishti Abad Mohalla, Shabgadar, and SalmanaliasWaqas,resident ofMohmandu Gandhab Yusufkhel, presently residing in Shabedar area.

He said on their identification, a large cache of weapons and explosives was recovered during a search operation within the limits of Sarokali police station.

The seizure included four rocket shells, five RPG shells, eight hand grenades, an artillery shell, a light machine gun and 30 feet prima card. SP Sajjad Khan said that the facilitators were constantly in touch with Taliban in Afghanistan and were planning to carry out a major terrorist act.
