CS urges security to personnel working on uplift projects

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Secretary Saifullah Chattah has directed the departments concerned to provide security to people working on development projects in different parts of the province.
Presiding over a meeting here on Thursday, he asked law enforcement authorities to seek cooperation of tribal elders to maintain law and order.
The chief secretary said it was the responsibility of the government to maintain law and order and noted that security situation had been improved because of the policies of the government.
`However, law enforcement agenciesand the district administration should take steps to further improve their performance in this regard,` he said.
He stressed the need for collaborating with tribal elders to maintain peace in their respective areas. He directed the officials to provide security to people working on development projects in various parts of the province.
The chief secretary ordered deployment of officials in all those government organisations which were not functional.
The meeting was attended by IG Police Balochistan Ahsan Mehboob, DIG Special Branch Abdul Razzaq Cheema, DIG Quetta Manzoor Sarwar, Commissioner Quetta Qamber Dashti and other senior officials.
