Ali the legend

2016-06-10
BOXING legend Muhammad Ali, who died recently, was undoubtedly the greatest athlete of the century. But his real greatness was in his pronouncement on social and religious issues.

He strongly condemned discrimination against blacks, which still continues to this day in parts of the US.

He was against the war in Vietnam and refused enlistment. He said about the Vietcong: `shoot them for what? How can I kill a human being for no reason?` He converted to Islam but was tolerant of all religions and beliefs. He was truly a citizen of the world.
