RAWALPINDI: The divisional coordinator of the Punjab Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW) on Monday said an awareness campaign was being launched to ensure maximum participation of women in the electoral exercise.

According to a press release, the awareness campaign will be launched in all four districts of Rawalpindi Division in collaboration with the Election Commission of Pakistan, local government and district administrations.

Consultation with all institutions concerned has been done and the awareness campaign will be launched soon and community seminars are also the part of campaign in which women will be urged to utilise their right to vote.

All reasons and causes of low turnout of women will also be studied and the commission will work in a comprehensive manner with the support of local community and government departments to get maximum participation of women in the election in the area where their turnout was low previously.
