Tribute paid to Fatima Jinnah on her 58th death anniversary

KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) on Wednesday marked the 58th death anniversary of Madar-i-Millat Fatima Jinnah by holding a series of events to honour herlegacy and lifelong struggle for democracy, women`s rights and Pakistan`s ideological integrity.

A delegation of MQM-P leaders visited the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, where they offered prayers, laid a floral wreath at Fatima Jinnah`s grave and recorded their sentiments in the visitors` book.

The delegation included the party`s deputy parliamentary leader in the Sindh Assembly, Taha Ahmed Khan, along with MPAs Rehan Akram, Moeed Anwar, Faisal Rafiq, Jamal Ahmed, Fauzia Hameed, Qurat-ul-Ain, Engineer Adil Askari and Bilqis Mukhtar.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, MPA Taha Ahmed Khan said thatMadar-i-Millat`s struggle for democracy, the rule of law, and women`s rights remains a beacon of hope.

In a separate event, MQM-P`s central women`s wing organised a seminar at the Women Convention Centre in Federal B Area, which was attended by a large number of women and students.

Senior party leaders including Nasreen Jalil, Kishwer Zehra, Maryam Khatoon, Khushbakht Shujaat, Rana Ansar, Senator Khalida Ateeb and Nighat Shakeel addressed the gathering.

The speakers emphasised that Fatima Jinnah`s courage and leadership remain a symbol of resistance, integrity and empowerment.

They reiterated MQM-P`s commitment to promoting democratic values and ensuring women`s active participation in politics, in line with the principles laid down by Fatima Jinnah.
