Massive rally has baffled PTI: Muqam

2017-08-10
PESHAWAR: The PML-N on Wednesday criticised the PTI over `negative remarks` about its leader and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif`s rally from Islamabad to his hometown Lahore and said the `massive` rally had baffled the leaders of Imran Khan`s party.

While leading an Islamabad-bound vehicular procession, PML-N provincial president Ameer Muqam told workers at the Peshawar Toll Plaza that the PTI had blocked roads in Islamabad during its 126-day sit-in but the people tolerated it.

He said the PTI`s sit-in had caused irreparable loss to economy and delayed the execution of the China-Pakistan E conomic Corridor project but even then, the federal government didn`t act against Imran Khan`s party but now when the PML-N workers welcomed their party leader as he left for own hometown, the opposition parties didn`t tolerate it.

`The rally is the beginning of a campaign to activate party workers. It has been successful as workers stepped out in large numbers to prove their love for their leader, who as the prime minister served the nation with zeal,` he said.

The PML-N leader said he was hope that the Islamabad-Lahore rally would have far-reaching impact on the overall political situation besides strengthening the party.

He said the people would vote for only those, who worked for national development and progress.

Mr Muqam said the politics of confrontation and blame game had no value as the people wanted the government to do something tangible for their welfare.

He said the PTI government had badly failed to deliver in the province.-Bureau Report
