Theodore Roosevelt`s silver pocket watch, stolen in 1987 from the Theo-dore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site, has been returned to Sagamore Hill.

A Florida auction house discovered the watch last year, and it was seized by federal agents. The watch, a gift from Roosevelt`s sister in 1898, was a cherished item he carried on his travels. It was identified by its engraving, `THE0DORE ROOSEVELT,` and was authenticated by the FBI and Park Service. Now back on display, Tweed Roosevelt, his great-grandson celebrated its return, calling it a piece of Roosevelt`s spirit returning home.
