Two arrested for murdering teenager

TAXILA: Attock police on Friday claimed to have resolved the mystery behind the kidnapping and murder of a teenager in the jurisdiction of Jand police station and arrested two persons.

Talking to journalists, District Police Officer (DPO) Imran Razzaq revealed that Badshah Khan reported to police on Aug 16 that his teenage brother Mehmood Khan was kidnapped by unknown persons.

The DPO said a team of Jand police, through human intelligence and digital sources, arrested two suspects.

He said both were taken into custody, who during interrogation confessed that they had kidnapped the man at gunpoint, killed him and then threw his body in a deserted place.

On their identification, police recovered the body from a deserted place and shifted it to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for autopsy.

The DPO said the investigation team also recovered the weapon used in the crime and car utilised in the abduction.

Meanwhile, food department of ficials in Pindigheb and Taxila foiled bids to smuggle a huge quantity of wheat and flour from Punjab to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In Pindigheb, a team led by Assistant Commissioner Ijaz Abdul Kareem foiled a bid to smuggle 4,000 maunds of wheat from Punjab to KP through five different trucks and arrested five drivers. In Taxila, a team foiled a bid to smuggle over 600 bag s of flour and arrested one driver.
