Two minibuses burnt by mob after boy dies in accident

KARACHI: Two minibuses were set ablaze by a crowd after one of the fastmoving vehicles ran over and killed an 11-year-old boy and injured his elder brother in New Karachi Industrial Area on Sunday evening, police said.
New Karachi Industrial Area SHO Tariq Rahim added that the brothers were riding a motorcycle when the two W-11 route minibuses, which were carrying out a race with each other, hit them near Bismillah Chowk in Godhra Camp. As a result, Arslan died from the injuries while his elder brother, Adil, was injured.
The drivers of the buses escaped leaving behind their vehicles.
The incident angered area people, who set both the vehicles on fire, which damaged them partially.
The officer said that efforts were under way to arrest the drivers.
