LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday granted protective bail to PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja in two cases registered in Hasanabdal related to the Islamabad protest by the party.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi allowed the bail to Raja till Oct 16 with a direction to approach the court concerned before the next hearing.
Speaking to the media, Advocate Raja said there was a need to fix the country`s system and ensure the rule of law.
He condemned, what he claimed, the authoritarian system in the country and vowed to stand against it, saying there would be no compromise on principles.
He said the police had become a `servant` to the ruling elite.
He said judges like CJP Qazi Faez Isa might retire and others may take their place.
He said appointment of the chief justice should not be subject to PM`s desires.
