ISLAMABAD, Nov 9: Security forces on Saturday picked up four suspected members of a banned outfit in two separate swoops in the twin cities.

As per intelligence, they were planning terrorist activities in capital and Kashmir during Muharram, sources said.

In one of the raids at a hostel in Sector I-10, the security personnel, who came from Lahore in two vehicles, picked up two suspects, the sources added.

The suspects were said to be affiliated with banned Lashkari-Jhangvi.

They had done reconnaissance of their target and were waiting for other members and material for the attack, they added.

In another raid, the Rawalpindi security forces picked up an alleged terrorist affiliated with the LJ, when he was about the leave for Kashmir. The suspect was allegedly member of a team which was given the task to target a majlis in district Bagh.

In view of the killing of Terik-i-Taliban Pakistan chief Hakimullah Mehsud, the capital police have made foolproof security for the Imam Bargahs, Majalis and Muharram processions.

Moreover, police commandos have been deployed around 16 Imambargahs of Islamabad after they were declared sensitive.
