PESHAWAR: Activists of Peoples Students Federation (PSF), Fata, on Wednesday demanded ofthe Pakistan Peoples Party`s leadership to dissolve the existing PSF body and warned to form a parallel body if the demand was not met within a week.
Speaking at a press conference at Peshawar Press club, a candidate for president`s slot of PSF, Fata, Malik Siraj Afridi demanded of PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to declare null and void the elections of PSF held recently in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
He warned that if their demand was not accepted they would form a parallel body of ideological workers of the federation.
Siraj Afridi, who claimed to be a student of the University of Peshawar and was a candidate for the PSF president slot in Fata elections, said that on Oct 25, 2016 the PPP Fata president, Akhunzada Chattan, conducted the PSF election and made decisions against the party traditions.
He said that all the decisions of PPP in tribal areas showed that it was not an election, but selection of ofñce-bearers.
He said that they had submitted their reservations about the election to PPP Fata spokesman Jahangir Mohmand to form a committee for resolution of the issue.
Flanked by Muslim Bacha, Saddam, and others, Malik Siraj alleged the sitting PSF president was not a student rather he was an employee of the public health engineering department in Fata.
`A candidate for the president`s slot must be a regular student of university and permanent resident of a tribal region, but the sitting PSF chief was not a regular student of any univer-sity,` he claimed.
He demanded of the PPP chairman to immediately issue a notification to declare null and void the PSF Fata chapter presidential election.
