LAHORE: Jamaat-i-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq has called the Indian Supreme Court verdict on Babri Mosque `shameful and black spot` on the face of Indian justice system.
Addressing a meeting of the central leadership in Mansoora on Saturday, he regretted that Prime Minister Imran Khan had not uttered a word in condemnation of Indian court decision during his speech at the opening ceremony of Kartarpur Corridor.
He said the Ayodhya verdict showed the ugly face of Hidutva extremism. The decision, he said, allowed the Hindu extremists to continue their abuse against Muslims at a time when the BJP government was bent upon snatching the rights of every non-Hindu living in India.
The JI chief said Hindutva goons had first demolished the centuries-old mosque and now they won the support of the top court af ter three decades in their favour.
It was a complete denial of justice and victimisation of millions of Muslims of the sub-continent, he said.
He urged the international communityto take notice of the biased decision. He also demanded that the Pakistan government play its role in exposing the approach of the world so-called biggest democracy towards the Muslim community.
He said the prime minister seemed confused at the inauguration of the Kartarpur Corridor as he not only took an apologetic stand on Kashmir, he also indirectly offered friendship to Modi. The weak stand of the present and past rulers on the Kashmir cause, he said, provided New Delhi an opportunity to wipe out Kashmir as a state from the world map.
Earlier, addressing a conference in connection with Iqbal Day, he said he was surprised over choosing the occasion for the opening of the corridor. He said it seemed the rulers knew nothing about the Two-Nation Theory.
He said the youth must learn from the ideology of Allama Iqbal and Syed Abul Ala Maududi and start struggle to turn Pakistanaccordingthevisionofthe great thinkers of Islam. He said the JI would continue struggle to turn Pakistan into an Islamic welfare state based on the ideas of Dr Iqbal and Syed Maududi.
