Lakki girls school faces staff shortage

By OurCorrespondent 2013-12-10
LAKKI MARWAT, Dec 9: The girl`s middle school of Abdulkhel here has been facing shortage of teachers since long, which is discouraging people to send their daughters to the school.

It was disclosed at a meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf here the other day. PTI district chief Saleem Nawaz presided over the meeting. A local PTI activist Hazrat Ali claimed that a single teacher was running the middle school while the remaining staff remained absent from duty.

`The villagers prefer to keep their girls at home to sending them to other localities of the district for education,` he said.

Another activist Irfanullah said that the government should provide funds for the repair of broken roads. Raza Khan of Illavakhel alleged that funds meant for repair of roads and water schemes were embezzled by officials of the departments concerned.

Other participants severely criticised PTI MNA Col (retired) Ameerullah Marwat for ignoring the remote areas like Abdulkhel, Jhangkhel, Chuharkhel etc in uplift schemes.
