LAHORE: The Anti C o r r u p t i o n Establishment (ACE) has been requested to look into the affairs of the Sargodha Cooperative Housing Society (SCHS) located in the provincial capital.

The ACE has also been urged to probe allotment of plots on fake membership (illegal sale of land). Somemembers of the society in their application to the ACE said that it should be cleared of encroachments and illegal possession.

`The election process in the society is also quite shady where procedure laid down in the Cooperatives Societies Act 1925 is not being followed,` it says. The SCHS was formed some 40 years ago on Raiwind Road under the act.The development process and possession in this scheme has been delayed overthe years.

There are also complaints of double allotment of already allotted plots in the scheme, besides victimisation of original allottees. `Over the years different parties and individuals have deceitfully sold land with collusion of cooperative department to a number of individuals, the application says.It further says that lack oftransparency and other malpractices were overlooked by cooperative department despite numerous applications.

Earlier, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had probed the affairs of this society and made recommendations to cooperative department to proceed and implement rules.

The case of the society has been moved to the ACE.
