Sony Animation and Netflix are teaming up for a new animated Ghostbusters film, directed by Kris Pearn,joining an upcoming animated series.

Inspired by the success of the Spider-Verse films, this project aims to bring fresh energy to the franchise.

Pearn, known f or Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2, has a strong relationship with both studios. While details are scarce, fans can look forward to two major animated Ghostbusters projects, alongside more live-action films.

The recent Ghostbusters:Frozen Empire earned $201 million at the box office, and future big-screen stories are in the works. The huge success of Ghostbusters made way for a franchise with a direct sequel, a failed reboot in 2016, and a second reboot with two movies, along with two animated TV shows, video games, and lots of merch.
