Mumtaz reminds PM of unfulfilled commitments

LARKANA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on Monday took out a rally here on Monday to remind the party chief, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, of commitments for a merger of the Sindh National Front (SNF) with his party.

Led by Sardar Mutmaz Ali Bhutto, his son Amir Bukhsh Bhutto and Ali Hyder Bhutto, a large number of PML-N workers and supporters started a march from Bagh-i-Zulfikar and converged on Pakistan Chowk, where they held a public meeting.

Speaking to the participants, Mumtaz Bhutto said Mr Sharif had promised to hold an across the board accountability of the previous government and its leaders with regard to corruption and other malpractices. He said Mr Sharif`s reneging on his promises would tantamount to deceiving the people of Sindh, particularly PML-N voters.

He said he would lead more such rallies in other districts of Sindh to draw the prime minister`s attention towards aspirations of PMLN workers and supporters.

He said PML-N had no right to exonerate `robbers and plunderers of the national exchequer` who had also massively rigged the (May 11, 2013) elections through revenue and police officials.

He warned all such officials that the day of accountability was not far away, and said they were supposed to comply with only lawful orders of the government.

Mr Bhutto said that a fair inquiry by a high court judge could expose the Pakistan Peoples Party`s so called election victory in Sindh, adding that (former president) Asif Ali Zardari saved himself behind the slogan of `Qadam Barrhao Nawaz Sharif, ham tumharay saath hein` otherwise he would have been behind the bars by now.

He alleged that police instead of netting criminals were busy harassing poor peasants and otherinnocent people. `They are protecting the Khuhro clan, that has failed to prove its ownership of certain kutcha lands in the lower and high courts, he claimed.

PML-N organised similar rallies and demonstrations in Sukkur and Jacobabad on Monday and condemned registration of `fake` cases against Amir Bukhsh Bhutto and many other colleagues.
