Tourists find solace in Marghazar valley

MINGORA: Tourists from across Swat thronged Marghazar valley to enjoy natural beauty and folk music here on Friday.
The local tourists said that the valley was near and easily accessible where they enjoyed serene environment amid deep and lush green dale that echoed with folk music.
Marghazar valley has been witnessing a big number of tourists on Fridays and Sundays despite cold weather; some to enjoy the historical white palace and others the calm environment.
Also, tourists could be seen sitting around folksingers here and there.
`The valley offers every colour to tourists and culture lovers. It is very near where we can come in 10 minutes from Mingora. I have come with friends to sit along the stream and listen to the live folk music,` said Akhtar Ali, a tourist from Mingora.
Many young tourists whowere enjoying trickling water of the stream down the hill were also sipping hot tea.
`Every Friday we come here and sit along the stream to release our mental stress and forget the tiresome daily routine. Sipping tea and gossiping with friends have its own unique charm which can only be achieved here in this valley,` said Zahoor Khan, another local tourist.
At the site of folk music where many tourists were listening to the music, some spirited youth were dancing making the scene more beautiful.
`The music is sweet and the mesmerising scene gives me mental satisfaction. This is the charm of Marghazar,` Khalid, a passionate young man told this scribe.
The folksingers said that they were not professional, but they loved music and preferred to sing it in such a heavenly area.
`We sing and receive appreciation from smiling people,` said Shahid Khan, a young folksinger.
