LAHORE: Four-year-old bay colt See The Light restored the confidence reposed in him by his connections while galloping home to an easy win in the feature event at the Racecourse here on Sunday.

The 25 to 100 favourite, owned jointly by Mian Mahir Ahmad and Syed Aamir Raza Shah, son of Vetlozzi out-of-Next Generation, had twicerefused to be boxed in for the start and bolted away subsequently to be withdrawn from the race but he behaved normally on Sunday to return home triumphantly in the event run over 1,200 metres. Trained by A.B. Malik, the colt was given a perfect ride by jockey Aamir Pervez.

The winner beat bay filly Proposal by four lengths with dark-bay filly Savante Hill third a further two length behind while bay filly Big Confidence betrayed her owners trustfinishing a dismal fourth among six runners. The Loveable Plate, a class V division II & III was the fifth race in the racing order.

The victory of See The Light spurred jockey Aamir Pervez into action, who later guided bay colt Lenin to a popular victory in the supporting event Brumal Plate class VI division I & II over 1,100 metres.

At one stage it looked that Lenin might be over taken by dashing bay colt Smasher (A. Raza up) but Aamirguided his mount with hands and heels cracking whip in the air to see Lenin past the winning post half-alength ahead of Smasher. Owned by Bilal Khan Lenin was backed at 40 to 100, and is trained by Amjad Ali II.

Big Bash and Mighty Dot completed the frame among eight runners.

Aamir`s winners were the only favourite horses to win in a card of seven races decided in the afternoon while the other events were won by those available at good odds.
