KARACHI: Pakistan`s top tennis player Ageel Khan is only two steps away from retaining the title after he prevailed over seventh seed and junior international Muzammil Murtaza in convincing fashion to cruise into men`s singles semis of the second Modern Club Founder Members Tennis Championship on Sunday.

Ageel, the seasoned Davis Cupper who defeated Zuhaib Gul and Abdul Rehman in the preceding matches, won 6-0, 6-1 in the quarters played at the Modern Club courts.

Muzammil, however, have some consolationwhen he carved out 6-2, 6-2 victory over local player Marib Malik to advance into juniors under-18 singles last four. Joining him in the semis were Sahibzada Mohammad Ali who accounted for Noman Aftab 6-3, 6-4 and Haris Irfanul Haq who was home 6-3, 6-4 over Nazif Ahmed in the other two quarter-finals.
