Art exhibition attracts visitors in droves

DERA ISMAIL KH AN: A vibrant two-day art exhibition was held at District Auditorium Hall as part of the ongoing Derajat Festival.
The event showcased captivating artworks of both senior and emerging artists, attracting a large number of visitors. The exhibition featured calligraphy and paintings, narrating a story with the help of colours.
About 75 artists participated in the event, presenting their creative expressions through a wide range of paintings.
During the closing ceremony, medals and certificates were distributed among artists to recognise their contribution. The sports director, Naimatullah, the deputy director, Jamshed Baloch, the regional sports officer, Raziullah Bittani, senior artists Ajab Khan, Farooq Sial, Jamshed Matthew, Mohammad Sharif, Danish Khan and Qari Abdul Karim were guests on the occasion.
The exhibition was also attended by a considerable number of young female artists, who presented compelling pieces that not only exemplified their excellence but also reflected deep societal themes and inner emotionallandscapes.
Visitors, artists and art lovers widely praised the exhibited work, describing the event as a vital platform for nurturing the creative potential of youth.
According to the organisers, the aim of the exhibition was to encourage young artists and promote the rich culture of Dera Ismail Khan.
Speaking at the event, Raziullah Bittani said that promoting art was among the priorities of provincial government. He appreciated initiatives under Derajat Festival and said that such events not only supported artists but also inspired greater involvement of community in arts.
Senior artist Ajab Khan talked interests of both senior and junior artists. He lauded commendable performances of young women in the field of fine arts.
It is worth mentioning that a one-day poetry recitation session will also be held today (Friday) at District Auditorium Hall as part of Derajat Festival.
