LAKKI MARWAT: Miscreants blew up a house with explosives in the Michenkhel area of Lakki Marwat city on Wednesday night.

Police said the house, owned by proclaimed offender Umar Rauf, was destroyed as an improvised explosive device planted alongside it went off.

However, no human loss was reported as the family was away.

Malik Bibi, a relative of Umar Rauf, told police that she was asleep at her parents` house in the locality when a powerful explosion awakened them at around 1:05am.

`Later I came to know that miscreants had blown up our house with explosives`, she maintained.

She said that the house along with the guest room and household articles were completely destroyed in the explosion.

The complainant told police that a house of a neighbor Surana Khan was also partially damaged in the blast. She said that after investigation and inquiry she came to knowthat the members of a terrorist group including Azharuddin, Abdullah, Waheedullah, Shafiullah, Irshad Nawaz, Waqas and their six accomplices had destroyed their house with explosives.

Police said that they had launched an investigation after registration of a case under relevant sections of law in the city police station.

STORE GUTTED: A huge fire destroyed a garment store at the main Lorry Adda in Lakki Marwat city on Thursday.

A Rescue 1122 official said firefighters were dispatched along with water bowsers to the area shortly after learning about the incident.

However, the blaze destroyed garments before they got there.

The official said after hectic efforts, the workers extinguished the fire, saving other shops from destruction.

He said the cause of the fire couldn`t be ascertained. Correspondent
