ISLAMABAD: National Assembly`s Standing Committee on Finance convened an emergency meeting on Tuesday and gave the nod to two bills, unfazed by the boycott of the opposition members.

Thecommitteemeeting,calledwithina12-hournotice,approved theSecuritiesandExchangeCommissionofPakistan(Amendment) Bill 2016 and the Credit Bureaus (Amendment) Bill 2016.

`The finance minister called the members late Monday night, asking them to convene a meeting immediately to approve these bills,` said an official of the finance ministry.

`Pakistan had promised the IMF these two bills would be cleared by the NA committee by the end of April but they had already been delayed.
