Four booked for torturing UC official

SAHIWAL: A rural union council secretary was made hostage and severely tortured by four armed persons for refusing to amend some illegal official registration record at village Kalyana in tehsil Pakpattan.

Muhammad Amir, a secretary at the union council Kalyana, was insulted, made hostage and tortured with sticks, rods and a pistol at his workplace for two hours.

The suspects, Shakeel of Chak 55/BD, Okara, AliYaqoob and Abdur Rehman, residents of Kot Bahawal, and Haroon of Kalyana, also took Rs18,000 cash, office card and original CNIC.

Amir told police he was approached many times by the suspects to make some changes to the registration record of some individuals in UC documents. He refused to do that. First, the suspects offered money but he refused to take it. A day later, the suspects broke into his office and tortured him. Kalyana police booked four suspects under PPC 392 on the complaint of Amir.
