PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani on Tuesday inaugurated a state-of-the-art school of investigation here on Tuesday.
Addressing the first batch comprising 25 officers from across the province, Mr Durrani urged the participants to undergo training with full devotion and dedication, according to a handout.
Terming the investigation wing as the backbone of any police force, the IGP advised the participants that they must perform their duties with integrity,
empathy, impartiality and honesty.
The IGP also warned the participants that their responsibility was the most sensitive one and anyone found to be
involved in nepotism or corruption would be dealt with strictly.
The school of investigation is the first in a series of training institutes being
established as a part of capacity building of the KP police.
Mr Durrani said that keeping in view the increased use of technology in modern day crime, a strong need was felt to build the capacity of KP police investigation wing to bring it at par with its
contemporaries across the world.
He said that the training imparted in the school would enable the police investigators to conduct investigations in a scientific manner which in turn would have positive effect on the conviction rates. He said the KP police had engaged highly qualified specialists from across the country to deliver lectures to the participants in
the school.—APP
