LAHORE: Hearing the bail petition of a prime suspect involved in lynching of a Christian couple in Kot Radha Kishan, a Lahore High Court division bench on Wednesday summoned police investigation record for next week.
Malik Yousaf Gujjar, owner of the kiln where the couple was burnt alive, filed the petition through his counsel pleading that he had no link with the incident.
The counsel said that Gujjar was not present at the time of the occurrence of the incident.
He said his client was a hepatitis patient and his treatment in jail was not possible.
He asked the court to release him on bail.
According to the prosecution, Sajjad Masih and his wife Shama, brick kiln workers, were killed on Nov 4, 2014, by an angry mob of over 400 people for alleged blasphemy.
Police submitted challan of over 50 suspects before the trial court.
