Two killed as van falls into ravine in Shangla

SHANGLA: Two people were killed and three others sustained injuries when a carfellinto a deepravinein Belly Baba area here on Saturday evening.

Police officials in Alpuri told mediapersons that a car going to Belly Baba from Mata Aghwan area fell into ravine due to over-speeding, resulting into the death of a child and a woman, while three people were injured.

Local people and police retrieved the bodies and injured from the ravine and shifted them to district headquarters hospital, Alpuri, wherefrom two critically injured were referred to Saidu Teaching Hospital in Swat.

The deceased were identified as Sanaullah and Bakht Jehan Bibi, while the injured were Khan Sardara, Asia Bibi and Kainat Bibi.

ROAD IN BAD SHAPE: People of Chakesar on Saturday complained about the bad condition of KaroraChakesar road.

Talking to reporters in Bisham, they said Chakesar was a historical and important place in the district, but it had been ignored by the elected people in the uplift projects.

They said ChakesarKarora road had been in bad condition for last many years, but no government functionary paid heed to it.

They said besides the had shape, the road was also frequently hit by landslides, blocking it every now and then.

They lamented that Chief MinisterPervezKhatakhad assured the local people that the road would be rebuilt but to no avail. Correspondent
