Three Lakki SHOs suspended over links with criminals

LAKKI MARWAT: District police officer Taimur Khan on Monday suspended three SHOs over their links with anti-social elements, and ordered departmental proceedings against them.
An official said the suspended SHOs included Fidaullah Khan of Ghaznikhel police station, Asmatullah Niazi of Dadiwala police station and Anees Khan of Tajori police station. He said a high-level meeting chaired by the district police chief took the decision in light of their poor performance and connections with drug sellers and criminals.
`The suspended officials have been accused of aiding and abetting anti-social elements, including drug sellers, proclaimed offenders and gamblers, and taking monthlies from them,` he maintained.
The official said the suspended SHOs had been closed to the police lines with directions to join departmental proceedings against them.
Meanwhile, sub-inspector Damsaz Khan, who was awaiting posting at the police lines, has been made SHO of Ghaznikhel.
Serai Gambila SHO subinspector Zahid Khan has been transferred and posted SHO Dadiwala.In-charge officer of Abbasa police post Shakil Khan was transferred and posted SHO of Serai Gambila.
INJURED: Two women were injured when unidentified miscreants attacked the house of a policeman in Gul Waliabad locality of Lakki city on Sunday night.
Officials said the assailants hurled a grenade on the house of special branch official Ihsan Ghani, which exploded with a bang.
They said the police official`s wife and daughter were injured in the explosion, who were rushed to the Government City Hospital.
They said police reached the site, collected evidence and launched search for the attackers.
ASSUMES CHARGE: The newly-posted regional police officer Imran Shahid assumed the charge of his office on Monday.
District police officer Ziauddin Ahmed received him when he reached the Iqbal Shaheed Police Lines in the Bannu city.
An alert police contingent presented a guard of honour to the regional commander, who placed a floral wreath on the monument of martyrs and offered prayers for their high ranks. Mr Shahid also planted a seedling on the premises of the police lines.
