SHANGLA: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON Engr. Amir Muqam has criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government over its `failure to fulfil commitments` in the province.

He also said that the federal government would complete its tenure as no one could force it out prematurely.

Mr Muqam, who is also the provincial president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, told reporters at his residence the other day that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the federal government steered the country out of economic crisis.

`Now, Pakistan is economically stable,` he said.

The minister said he had planned more solarisation projects for hospitals, schools, mosques and seminaries in the province.

`We have installed mega solar projects in major hospitals, like the recently opened one in DHQ hospital Alpuri under the UNHCR funds,` he said.

Mr Muqam claimed that he brought Rs30 billion development projects to Shangla during the last caretaker government`s four months through a minister from his party.

He said work of those projects was under way, while 250km foreign-funded roads were being constructed in the district.

`My focus is on Shangla`s development,` he said.

The minister said it had been his dream to blacktop roads to the hilltops of the district and ensure educationalfacilities at every corner of the district.

`I remember and personally experienced that I walked for five kilometres to reach a primary school in this village (Chagam), and I am aware of the difficulties of our people in Shangla,` he said.

Mr Muqam said he also dreamed of seeing the Shangla expressway in his life and other roads to cover the long and dangerous, and rugged roadsin a short time and safely.

Criticising PTI government, he said the PTI`s protests had been seen by the public, and it was on record that the PTIleadership had escaped and left workers behind who were later sent to the jail.

The minister said the PTI workers should make their leadership accountable because they were not sincere with the workers, but a comedy.

He said the government will complete its term, and there was no such threat, and there were cases against PTI founder Imran Khan, and he should hire a competent lawyer to get him released; otherwise, he had to complete the imprisonment term.
