LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Kissan cards will be available in the branches of the Bank of Punjab from Aug 10 as the printing of 250,000 cards is underway.

A meeting chaired by Agriculture Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo was informed that verification of 100,000 applicants had been completed, while new applications were also being received.

The kissan card holders would be able to purchase fertilisers, seeds and pesticides at discounted prices from Oct 15.

Mr Sahoo said the card would be distributed on `first come, first served` basis as 275,000 growers have so far applied for it.
