Action taken against unauthorised government beneficiaries of BISP

GILGIT: Gilgit-Baltistan government decided to take disciplinary action against total 4,495 government employees from scale 1 to scale 19 for receiving monetary benefits from Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) illegally. It has also decided to recover the due amount from the salaries of these employees.
BISP Islamabad recently identified 165,820, scale 1 to scale 19 government employees including significant number of employees from GB for taking monetary benefits from BISP. They were removed from the list of beneficiaries under the data cleaning exercise with the support of National Database & Registration Authority (Nadra).
According to a press release, an important meeting was held on Wednesday, chaired by GB Chief Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani in Gilgit. The meeting was attended by GB Secretary Finance, Secretary Services and GB Accountant General. The meeting discussed action for the recovery of amount from illegal beneficiaries and departmental disciplinary action against government employees.
