TAXILA: A woman was shot dead by her in-laws in Kawwan village of Hassanabdal. Police sources said Najma Alam married Sharafat Khan about 15 years ago and had no children due to which relations between the woman and her in-laws remained strained.

On Thursday, her husband along with his brother Shafgat Khan and father Waris Khan killed her after an exchange of heated words. The suspects managed to escape from the crime scene.

The body of the victim was shifted to tehsilheadquartershospitalfor autopsy.

Student killed on road A speeding dumper ran over a motorcyclist on Hazara Road near Lub Meelarea in the limits of Hassanabdal police.

Police said Abu Bakar, 20, a seminary student was going to Haripur when the dumper hit and killed him. The dumper driver managed to escape.

Two murder suspects arrested The Wah Saddar police on Thursday arrested two suspects wanted in a attempted murder case registered against them a few weeks ago. According to a police spokesman, Umair and Huriria had killed Imran over an old enmity and fled.

The spokesman said a police team led by station house officer Inspector Rana Kashif traced the suspects and put them behind bars. Correspondent
