Satisfaction on dengue measures

LAHORE: The participants of a cabinet meeting expressed on Wednesday their satisfaction over the measures to control tropical disease dengue and stressed upon government departments to coordinate with each other to prevent its outbreak in the peak season.

The meeting heard 32 patients had tested dengue positive, according to a handout.

Additional Chief Secretary Aamir Sohail Mirza directed the staff to convene short meetings of town emergency response committees in the evening every day.

He said besides town administrator, senior officers should ensure their presence in the meeting and review the performance of their surveillance teams.

The participants learnt after reopening of schools and colleges zero periods had again been started and the programme of holding seminars and walks has also been ensured.

CM’s adviser Khawaja Salman Rafique directed the Auqaf Department to remove room coolers from mosques as 52 per cent of the detected larva was found in room coolers. Prof Dr Muhammad Ali of Dengue Expert Advisory Group informed the meeting the patient managements training of 200 doctors of private hospitals had been conducted at Services Institute of Medical Sciences.
