BADIN: The Badin district and sessions court on Thursday extended the protective bail to former home minister Dr Zulfikar Mirza and his 107 associates in six cases till November 5. The cases registered against them at various police stations of Badin district pertainedtorioting,forcingpeople to observe a shutdown, displaying arms and possessing illegal weapons, creating a law and order situation, threatening policemen to stop them from performing their official duties etc.
After getting his bail extended, Dr Mirza along with many of his associates addressed his supporters in different localities in Pangrio and Tando Bago towns and vowed to intensify his campaign against massive corruption in the province. He said he was of strong belief that the campaign would succeed and all corrupt elements would meet their logical fate.
He observed that the noose around [Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman] Asif Ali Zardari, MNA Faryal Talpur and their associates had been tightened and they would be held accountable to their [alleged] misdeeds soon. `All of them would be sent behind bars,` he added.
Haji Mukhtiar Pitafi, Dr Abdullah Talpur, Siknder Ali Memon and several other political figures accompaniedDrMirzaandannounced their support for him in the oncoming LG elections.
