Five held for diverting flour for IDPs

TOBA TEK SINGH: A truck containing 800 flour bags meant for IDPs in KPK camps was found in Shorkot Cantonment by a team of food department led by Jhang District Food Controller Amanullah on Thursday night.

Shorkot Cantonment police muharrar Irshad Hussain told this correspondent that truck was to be unloaded in a flour mills and according to the DFC it was loaded for IDPs of Bannu but its driver Farman and helper Nematullah drove the truck to Cantonment to sell it on reduced prices to a flour mills.

Police arrested two flour mill owners Zareef Khan and Haji Naeem, their manager Sheraz and truck driver Farman and his helper Naimatullah. Case had been registered against them under sections 268, 272 and 273 of PPC, sections 3 and 6 of Food Licencing Act 1957 and section 7,11 and 16 of Food Control ACT.
