BAHAWALNAGAR: Two women suffered burns in an acid attack by their rivals here on Wednesday night in Faroogabad locality.
Reports said two men entered the house of Manzoor and threw acid on his wives Allah Rakhi and Farzana.
When his son Mubashir offered resistance, the suspects injured him with a sharp-edged weapon. The suspects managed their escape. Rescue 1122 shifted the women and the youth to DHQ Hospital.
Manzoor alleged that the attack was made by his rivalsWasim and Tariq over a litigation dispute.
B-Division police have registered a case and are conducting raids for the arrest of the suspects.
ROBBERS OVERPOWERED: Some villagers on Thursday overpowered two alleged robbers and handed them over to Donga Bonga police.
Reports said two robbers snatched Rs150,000 from three cattle traders Hamayat Ali, Abdul Hameed and Ghulam Rabbani near Chak Maharwali at gunpoint.
They shot at and injured the traders on resistance and fled. Some villagers chased them and overpowered them.
