PR winter schedule from 15th

LAHORE: Stoppage duration of four trains will be increased, another three will have new stopover while another 11 trains will switch over to winter timings from Oct 15.

It has been the tradition that summer timings come into effect from April 15 and remain in force till Oct 14 and winter from Oct 15 till April 14 every year since the early quarter of the 20th century when a railway was constructed in this part of the subcontinent, which now comprises Pakistan.

A Pakistan Railways spokesman said on Monday that Tezgam, Khushhal Khan Khattak Express, Fareed Express and Hazara Express will have long duration stopover at Multan, Kundian, Samasatta and Sargodha stations.

Musa Pak Express will have stopover at Mian Chunnu and Akbar Bugti Express at Jahanian. The stoppage of Business Express at Sahiwal will be regularised.

Akbar Bugti Express, Jaffar Express, Badar Express, Ghauri Express, Sargodha Express, Chenab Express, Sandal Express, Waris Shah Fast, Rawalpindi Passenger will be among the 11 train that will run according to the new timetable.

No train will be stopping at Kacha Khu station on Khanewal-Sahiwal section and Shah Nal between Lodhran and Sher Shah junctions because of ongoing signaling upgrading project there, said the spokesman.

RESERVATION: All reservation offices of Pakistan Railways will remain closed on Oct 12 on account of Youm-i-Ashur.

The reservation offices would resume routine timings of 8am to 9pm from the following day, said an announcement on Monday.
