TMA unable to get rid of stray dogs

By Our Correspondent 2016-10-11
RAHIM YAR KHAN: Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) authorities seemed to have failed to control the increasing number of stray dogs across the city.

Incidences of attacks by stray dogs are rising by the day. Clusters of dogs could be seen near Jinnah Hall, livestock office, Shaikh Zayed Medical College Hospital, Markazi Eidgah and veterinary hospital.

There have been complaints of attacks by stray dogs from people takingwalks in their neighbourhoods.

Leader of Anjuman-iTajiran Haji Anwar Ali Ansari said their delegation had met Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Ahmad Khan Wattoo last month.

The TMO had told them there were no funds or poison to eliminate stray dogs.

He assured the delegation the dogs would be gunned down, but to no avail.

Locals demanded the task of killing stray dogs be given to Rescue 1122 or the district administration.

TMO Wattoo did not respond to calls despite repeated attempts.
