OKARA: The owners of a dangerous building were booked on the report of a tehsil municipal administration (TMA) on Monday for not renovating the building.

In a previous TMA campaign, the staff had marked about 18 old dangerous buildings for demolition or renovation.

The TMA had issued notices repeatedly to the owners of such properties demanding immediate repair but to no avail.

On the report of a TMA inspector on Monday, a case was registered against the owners of a building situated in A Block, namely Muhammad Nadeem,Shafiq, Muhammad Amin and Nasir Ijaz.

The case was registered with A Division Police Station. The TMA also sought court permission to evacuate the building with the help of police.

PROCESSION: The Sahiwal division commissioner, district coordination officer, police high-ups and the members of the district peace committee, comprising Ulema of all religious schools of thought, held a peace procession in connection with Muharram.
