Two labourers electrocuted, as many injured on job

SARGODHA: Two labourers were electrocuted while working on the rooftop of an underconstruction house and as many others injured in Rana Town locality of Sahiwal in Sargodha district on Tuesday.
As per locals, four labourers were fixing an iron bar on the rooftop of an under-construction house when it touched high-voltage power supply wires. As a result, two of them, suffered severe electric shock and died on the spot, while two others were injured in the incident.
The deceased labourers were identified as Zaman Abbas and Ghulam Shabir.
The injured were shifted to Dr Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital, Sargodha for treatment.
SHOT DEAD: TheSon of a prayer leader was shot dead by unknown assailants in Bhatti Chowk area in New Satellite Town, Sargodha.
As per police, Rizwan Ali, son of a prayer leader Qari Abaidullah, was returning home after saying Fajr prayers when unidentified armed men shot him dead on the spot.
Police have registered acase and started investigations.
WORKSHOP: The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), University of Sargodha (UoS),organised a training session (workshop) for the varsity`s faculty on `Preparation of a self-assessment report (SAR)` on Tuesday.
The event was aimed to equip the faculty members with the skill and guidelines to prepare effective Self-Assessment Reports (SARs) and to enhance the quality of education at the varsity departments by implementing an effective quality assurance system fulfilling the requirements of all the stakeholders.
The workshop was attended by the QEC Director Dr Imran Ghafoor, and Deputy Director Rahmatullah, alongside over 60 faculty members.
On the occasion, Dr Ghafoor stated, `Our vision is to contribute to society through the pursuit of quality education, creative learning, and productive research`.
Rahmatullah emphasised the importance of self-assessment, its fundamental components, and models, discussing the diverse criteria for SARs to maintain high academic standards.
