DERA GHAZI KHAN: The Ghazi University vice chancellor has tendered his resignation in protest against the alleged misconduct of 10 faculty members, according to sources.

Prof Dr Kamran, who had been serving as the provice chancellor of Ghazi University since Oct 24, 2022, following the completion of Dr. Tofail`s tenure as VC, has stepped down from his position.

He resigned in response to the alleged misbehaviour, misconduct, and defiance of authority by some faculty members, who were also involved in causing unrest within the university, as stated in his written resignation.

When contacted, Registrar Prof Dr. Abid Alvi confirmed Prof Dr. Kamran`s resignation.

He said Prof Dr. Kamran is currently abroad. Prof Alvi added that he was temporarily serving as a custodian without decision-making authority until the appointment of the new vice chancellor.

It merits mentioning that the university previously operated without a vice chancellor from 2014 to 2018 and is once again functioning without its proper authority in the form of a vice chancellor.

BODY FOUND: The body of a child was found two days after he went missing from his home in Lal Garh police precincts, Jampur tehsil, Rajanpur district.

Eight-year-old Shamla Shah, son of Syed Ishaq, went missing on Oct 8. His father along with villagers and relatives conducted an extensive search for the boy.

They eventually found Shamla`s body some three kilometers away from his home in a canal.

Lal Garh police have registered a case against unidentified men under sections 302 and 353 of Pakistan Penal Code.
