NOWSHERA, Nov 10: Pakistan Teheek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has said that there is no room for corrupt elements in his party.
`No concession will be given to any corrupt minister in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government,` he said while talking to journalists after attending a function at a local academy here on Sunday. The provincial ministers, advisers and MPAs were also present on the occasion.
Mr Khan said that they had received information about charges of corruption levelled against some provincial ministers. `Any corrupt minister whether he belongs to PTI or the coalition parties will be dealt with sternly and the cases will be sent to accountability courts afterformation of Ehtesab Cell in the province,` he added.
He said that it was on top of PTI agenda to end corruption and restore peace.
Nobody would be spared if found guilty of corrupt practices, he added.
The PTI chief said that after Nato vehicles would not be allowed after Nov 20 to travel to Afghanistan via Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to lead the peace process and seek guarantee from United States that no drone attack would be carried out during the negotiations.
Mr Khan said that they didn`t want war with Nato forces. `Stopping Nato supply is aimed at giving a message to Nato states and the whole world that we are peace loving nation and want to resolve issues through dialogue,` he added.
He said that America sabotaged thepeace initiative by killing Taliban chief Hakeemulah Mehsud in a drone attack.
`How many American soldiers have been killed by Afghan Taliban in Afghanistan but still they (US) tries to sit on negotiating table with Afghan Taliban,` he said.
It was not the time to attack TTP chief when the government of Pakistan was in process of holding peace dialogue with Taliban, he said.
`The drone attack was a conspiracy to sabotage peace process as `do more lobby` of America doesn`t want peace in Pakistan. This lobby always wants war and bloodshed in Pakistan,` the PTI chief alleged.
He said that some elements in Pakistan had declared PTI leaders and workers as Taliban just for a few dollars.
Taking credit for initiating peace process in tribal areas, Mr Khan said that forthe first time a civilian government dared to hold talk of restoration peace in tribal areas. He said that in the past negotiations were held between the army and Taliban while no civilian government was taken onboard.
To a question, he said that holding talks with Taliban was responsibility of federal government so it should come forward and take the nation into confidence about the future line of action.
Criticising the prime minister for his foreign trips, the PTI chief said that people were being faced with unbridled inflation, unemployment and lawlessness while the prime minister was on foreign trips.
If none of the world cricket teams was ready to play a match in any Pakistani city due to law and order situation then how foreign investors could be ready to invest in the country, Mr Khan questioned.
