SHIKARPUR: Two litigants were shot dead and another one was wounded when they were returning from the Sikharpur sessions court after attending the hearing of a murder case on Monday.

Habibullah Brohi, a resident of Abdul Karim Brohi village of Gharhi Yasin taluka and his relatives, Khair Mohammed Brohi and Bashir Brohi, boarded an auto-rickshaw after the court rose for the day. When the tri-wheeler was passing through College Road, three armed men riding a motorcycle intercepted it and fired on the passengers, officials at the New Faujdari police station said.

Habibullah Brohi and Khair Mohammed Brohi died on the spot while Bashir Brohi received multiple bullet wounds in the attack, they said.

The assailants escaped leaving behind their motorcycle, the police said. Habibullah Brohi had a dispute with his cousins over the ownership of a piece of land and a fish pond near Garhi Yasin, his brother, Abdul Razzaque Brohi, told the media.

The dispute had already claimed three lives before the latest attack, he added.
