Haj accommodation
2015-11-11
I WENT for Haj this year under the government scheme. There were good arrangements made by the government for pilgrims, such as hotels, transportation, medical facilities, etc.
However, there were some problems about accommodation. For example, six Haj pilgrims were stuffed into one room meant for only two.
That created some serious problems like waiting in a queue for a single toilet, the congestion in the lifts, catching a disease from roommates, cleaning problems in the rooms, the clogging of the sewerage system, shortage of water, etc.
The government must consider reducing the number of occupants in a room to a maximum of three to four persons. It would certainly make things a lot more comfortable for Haj pilgrims.
Or, if this cannot be done, the government can create two categories an `ordinary`, and the other with better facilities.
