IT was about 6pm, Nov 30 when I was driving past the staff gate of Karachi Airport Jinnah terminal when my car was hit hard from behind by another car.
I had no option but to block the way of the errant car driver on the extreme right side of the road so that I could settle with the the other driver. There was some hindrance to the traffic but it was still moving.
While I was in conversation with the errant driver, a policeman and an Airport Security Force (ASF) commando. both armed, stepped in and were constantly pressuring me to clear the road. Being a law-abiding person I cleared the road. Both the policeman and ASF commando walked away and, meanwhile, the erring driver escaped, leaving me behind to bear the loss for no fault of mine.
Armed uniformed personnel are supposed to assist in delivering justice andshould have helped me obtain compensation for the damage to my car. By not playing their role fully, they only helped the culprit to escape. This only encourages victims to take the law into their hands. In this case the ASF had no business to interfere.
