Sindh AG resigns

By Our Staff Reporter 2014-01-12
KARACHI: Advocate General for Sindh Khalid Javed Khan on Saturday tendered his resignation from his office.

Speaking to Dawn, Mr Khan said he resigned the office owing to personal reasons. He said he had agreed to work as chief provincial law officer initially for three months. “But I continued for six months on the insistence of the chief minister,” he said.

Advocate Khan, son of PPP stalwart N. D. Khan, said his private law practice was affected seriously by his official assignments and it was the main reason behind his resignation.

He said he handed over his resignation to Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah in the afternoon. “The CM was reluctant to relieve me, but was kind enough to accept my request,” he said.

It is not yet clear that who will replace Mr Khan.
