RAWALPINDI: Provincial Labour Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar on Monday administered polio drops to a child at Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) to launch three-day campaign against the disease.
District Health Communication Support Officer Bushra Ajmal in a statement said polio teams also administered drops to children at bus terminals and airport.
She said EDO Health Dr Arshad Sabir and DO Health Dr Mohammad Raffique personally observed the campaign. She said the district administration had also made special arrangements to administer drops to children who were either left or their parents refused to cooperate with polio teams.
On the other hand, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sajid Zafar Dall while talking to Dawn expressed his satisfaction over the ongoing polio campaign. He said that a total of 47,951 children had been administered polio vaccine in Kotli, Taxila and Kallar Syedan on the firs day. A Reporter
